IP Phones fail aftyer Bluecat upgrade to DNS
All of my DHCP 46xx series phones will not come up.
The phones pull an address however they then pop an error "No file server address" If I input this and reboot I get an error " No call server address" If I zero out the phone and only put the address for fileserver and callserver the phone come up fine. Not sure what networking did but the bkuecat upgrade killed something Any ideas? |

Re: IP Phones fail aftyer Bluecat upgrade to DNS
Your DHCP scope needs to be setup for the phones. It would appear you are missing the Option 176 info in the scope which is where the Call Server and File server info are stored.
"A good start would be Appendix D in the IP Telephony Deployment Guide which explains the DHCP setup and options. It can be found on the Avaya Support Web (or the 4600 Series IP Telephone - LAN Administrator Guide - Section DHCP). Another good reference for the boot-up sequence for the phones can be found in the Avaya IP Implementation Guide (page 48)" Got this from this link: Option 176 - Community for Avaya Users
