Vms

We just had a Partner Messaging R4 system installed. I would like to be able to create an option for callers to be able press 3 to hear office hours but not be able to leave a message at that extention. Is there a way to set it up so that the caller will automatically be transfered to the opperators extension if they stay on the line after the office hours message is complete OR if they do leave a message is there a way to have it recorded to a different mailbox?

Thanks for your time.

Re: Vms

First, there is no Partner Messaging R4. There is Partner Mail VS R4, or Partner Messaging R1, R6 or R7.

If it is Partner Messaging, you can make selector code 3 go to a mailbox. Configure that mailbox as a phantom mailbox. It will then play that mailbox's greeting, and dump anymessages into the mailbox of your choosing.

Re: Vms

Thanks for the reply and the correction. I indeed have the Partner Mail VS R4.

I understand what you are saying but am not sure how to accomplish it. Would it be possible to get step by step directions? I am new to this and can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks!

Re: Vms

Well, with that voicemail you can not do what you are requesting. There is no phantom mailbox option in the R4. Nor, is there an announcement mail box.

You could make a mailbox say what you need, then record a message in that mailbox that maxxes out the storage so no one can leave a message....
