I have a client who has a Partner Mail VS R5. They tell me that the system has in the past automatically adjusted for daylight savings time. I have looked up the process to adjust for the new daylight savings schedule on support.avaya.com and have found instructions related to their system...but unfortunately, the instructions only appear to tell how to change the time. Is it possible to change the daylight savings rules that are programmed in this switch or will they be making the change manually from now on??
Thank you. |

Re: Daylight Savings change for Partnermail VS Rel 5
The VS Mail gets its time from the phone system. Only the ACS R6 and R7 will have a patch available. It's not really a DST patch, but causes the system clock to synch with CID.

Re: Daylight Savings change for Partnermail VS Rel 5
Thanks Tommy, this customer tells me they didn't think that they changed the time manually with the time change...but they have had some turn over in the past so maybe someone that is no longer there used to change it and the owner didn't know.
The phones don't have DST schedule programmed into them do they? Maybe I'm confusing two components...the pbx (Partner) and voicemail (Partnermail VS). Is there a DST schedule in the pbx? Last edited by nhammer; February 27th, 2007 at 03:46 PM. |

Re: Daylight Savings change for Partnermail VS Rel 5
If they have an ACS, Release 3 or higher, they haven't needed to change for DST up until now. The ACS's clock controls the voice mail's clock. But now, with the new DST schedule, they are going to have to change it manually. It would be best to turn the Automatic DST feature OFF, and have them change the time on the appropiate Monday, otherwise they will have to change it twice (once on the 2nd Sunday in March, and again when it changes itself automatically on the 1st Sunday in April)
