Extension goes directly to voice mail

I have a Partner system with Partner mail, and extension 10 goes directly to Voice mail, even when DND is turned off.

I had this situation once before and did a F11 10 10 to turn off forwarding and that fixed it (I don't know how forwarding got turned on and neither does the user)

This time that didn't work.

I can't figure out why it just goes straight to voice mail, and why it just started doing it out of the blue.

Messing with extension 10 makes me nervous as I have screwed up other programming, like how the main lines ring in before by making an inadvertant change.

So I'm just asking for a little advie.

I'm sure it is something simple that I am overlooking.

Thanks.

Re: Extension goes directly to voice mail

HI BP88,

I am only guessing on this, but if you are not the only administrator of your system my bet is that the all lines for the system are on ext. 10 and someone, somehow set up ext. 10 as the auto-attendant in the VMS (voice mail system).

If you have a remote access card you can connect to the system and pull the VMS information down to look at the setup.

One easier but simple thing to do is to reboot the switch. Please DO A BACKUP TO THE FLASH CARD prior to the shut down. If you are a multiple cabinet system please break out your manuals and go over the shut down procedures.

Good Luck,
