there are 2 programming steps you do. 1 is to program for forward answer and the other is for forward on busy. Both are under terminals and sets. My guess is that the forward on busy is still at default which is nothing. You will have to change that. Youll first have to know what your voice mail ext is. I think it is Feat 985. forward on busy should be set to that.

The problem is if you set up forward to busy, if your on a call it forwards right to a busy without ringing the station at all. I have set up 3 or 4 intercom keys on the sets to kind of over come this problem, but seems to me i must be missing something else.

Re: Problem with forward to VM.
In case anyone is interested. Got an answer to this problem from The Doctor. A column in The-Mart (www.telecom-mart.com). A great book for finding good deals on all kinds of telcom equipment.
"'This is a known problem with DID's and a lack of talk paths. A few solutions you can try: 1- Set the prime line to voicemail DN and all go to the General Mailbox. 2- Add 3rd Intercom button to al CFNA to user voicemail box (never answer the 3rd ring intercom) [THIS IS WHAT I DID] 3- If using a CallPilot you could use the express messaging line option" Nortel Design Team is aware of this problem and it is being addressed - hopefully fixed in a later release. |
