T1 Timing
I support RightFax faxing servers for my company.
We have had problems where the data trunks go diabled after we reboot the fax server. In an effort to troubleshoot, I have been asked to identify the T1 timing on the Brooktrout TR1034 fax card. Can anyone tell me how to get this information on the timing? Is it a hardware/software setting? Dip switch ? I know nothing about telecom issue or fax cards so your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Nate |

Re: T1 Timing
Nate,
You need to have access to the server to get into the RightFax configuration. In that application, there is a screen that allows you to set the configuration of the fax board. Go to this posting and you will find a very helpful document. Brooktrout Digital Board Config Nortsar Ignore the fact that it's for an integration to an Avaya PABX - what you want is on page 10 - you will see the screen you need to get to (note that the actual screen may vary depending on the version of RightFax software you are running). You should ALWAYS be using network timing on a fax server, and you should also check that the CSU that sits between the fax server and the telco interface is set to use network timing as well. Someone in your organization should be able to help you with that. Good luck and write back if you need further assistance.
