Questions about NT5B01 power loss memory???
Hi everyone,
I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, please forgive me. Also, please forgive my ignorance if I am asking dumb questions. I am not a PBX tech. I am just a reasonably technically inclined desk jockey, and, unfortunately, the boss thinks I can solve any electronic problem that comes up. My office has a system that is labeled Meridian on the door of the system. Inside, it is labeled Northern Telecom, and the model # is NT5B01. After some searching on the internet, I assume this translates to a Norstar 616 system. We currently have three lines in, and eight Meridian M7208 phones hooked up. We had to shut the power down for a few minutes to do some electrical repairs in another part of the building. The power was only off for five to ten minutes. Unfortunately, when we brought the power back up, the system had lost all it's settings. After several hours of digging through the configuration and admin menus, I think I finally got everything set back the way it should be. In the past, we have never had problems with system memory loss. According to the manual that we have, it is supposed to hold memory for a couple of days of power loss. Does this system have some kind of battery in it for backup? If so, what kind of battery does it use? Is a replacement battery still available? If it is available, what is the part number and where can I get it? Can someone provide diagrams/instructions for changing it? If the system doesn't use a battery for backup, what does it use? I hope there is an easily replaceable battery, because winter is coming and the power will eventually go out. I would like to prevent this situation from occuring again if I can. If there is no battery to replace, I guess I will buy a UPS for it. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks, in advance, for your assistance. -Keith- |
