Norstar NT5B01 6x16 PBX

I have come upon an issue when trying to set up my phone system. The lines coming from the telephone company are live. The lines from phones to pbx are good. So I am figuring since the phone system used to work with the previous company, with the main number being the same as before- I should atleast be good on line 1. I get no dial tone. Is there any place where I can get a config manual for my pbx system. I need to get this up ASAP. Not much information available from the resources I have.

Thanx all,

Steve

Check a few things out first with the sets if they are fairly new to you. Press Feature * and 0 and then the go through the buttons on the phone you are working with to see what is actually programmed on the keys. The button labled line 1 may not actually be a line. If it was set up as a SQUARE then the top two buttons on most sets should indeed be lines but if it was programed up as another config you would have no lines on the sets, you would have to press the intercom and then dial 9 get get the outside lines.

The 6x16 is an old nortel KSU (key service unit). The configuration programming was entered into by pressing "feature * *" and then "config" on the dial pad of an M7324 or M7310. You then have to enter the password which should be unique to that unit. In this level you can define what Extensions get what lines or what line access via dialing "9".

Unfortunately programming is done by the top 4 programable buttons, on the 7310 its the two top left and top right below the dispay and the M7324 they are on the right side of the phone.
There are back forward and select buttons in those 4 buttons, if you have a programing overlay then no problems.

There should be a link around here for the manuals, but you may not find the exact version for the unit you have, it should be close though.
