Hey out there. I have recently acquired an older working NAM II V1G Fiber unit that is rather maxxed out but it can still do more I would imagine. Current config is the standard MS-BIC card using the DS-30 driver, A SBC with the SVGA mezzanine card, as well as a 3com 100mbit ethernet pci card. It's running OS/2 Warp 3.0 with IP services. It also seems to have ppp trying to come up on the two serial ports, and BFAX.sys is trying to load as well with no results. VM 4.1 is up and running with 8 channels activated connected to a Norstar 6X16 of all things connected with the Fiber to Copper converter. NVM connects to it just fine and I can configure most everything.
So my questions are: 1. What fax card is supposed to go in this machine? Brooktrout TRUFAX? 2 port 4 port ISA or PCI possible? Looks like the bfax.sys driver is looking for up to 8 ports.. 2. Any one have a really old OS/2 Warp 3.0 compatible version of PCAnywhere if that was even produced? I haven't tried the old Win 3.1 16bit version yet though. 3. I'm assuming keycodes would be needed to even get the fax.exe software to even function correct?? 4. Can this machine do Fax with just the MS-BIC card and only need a software upgrade to support fax messaging and keycode? Thanks for any and all info. |
