Post What is a VMI?

It is a Voice Mail Interface (VMI) that allows you to use a stand alone 3rd party voice mail system to work with the Norstar system. It provides only 3 basic functions of the 3rd party integration:

*Forward to personal greeting.

*Return to operator.

*Message notification on/off using "Message for you" display on the Norstar telephone.

It is not compatible on all 3rd party voicemail systems, it has been successfully tested on :

Octel
Centigram
VMX
Active Voice
AVT (Call Express)

The VMI supports 2 ports and uses 2 station ports on the Norstar.
If you have more the 2 ports then you will need multiple VMI's.
