Compact ICS software - Restricted or Expanded?
We have a CICS with 8 lines & 16 ports currently and need a few more. I see there is an 8 port expansion card available but it says 'Requires expanded (not restricted) software to function'. How can I tell which software I have?
Maintenance>System Version> SP: 30BUG06 NAT Thanks, Dean Last edited by Crooner; May 4th, 2004 at 03:41 PM. |

Re: Compact ICS software - Restricted or Expanded?
Look on your firmware card - it will say if it is restricted. I've never seen one that says expanded, if it doesn't say restricted then it's expanded.
However, I can tell you have expanded by virtue of the fact that you have 8*16 working. The restricted doesn't even let you get that high. I THINK it limited you to 8 digital stations if I remember correctly, but I don't do a heck of a lot of nortel these days. Peter |

Re: Compact ICS software - Restricted or Expanded?
Greetings:
If your CICS is currently at 8X16 then you have standard software (restricted software allows max of 4X8). This software will allow up to 24 stations with the installation of the Combo services cartridge. From the product catalog: "The CICS Combination Services Cartridge provides hardware support for synchronization to network timing when digital trunking is being utilized (i.e. BRI trunks), and system expansion from 16 to 24 stations. This cartridge populates the expansion slot in the CICS control unit". So, add the cartridge and stir. Doesn't sound like you'll need the timing portion - but Norstar only offers one flavor of this card at this time. The current Part number for cartridge is NTBB04GC93. Good luck Mike |

Re: Compact ICS software - Restricted or Expanded?
Thanks guys for your help. The upgrade was simple, I have the new phones added and mailboxes set up.
I have a question about moving DN's also but I'll start another thread... Thanks again, Dean Martin |
