Exclamation Change number of rings before vm transfer

Hello, I really REALLY need help with knowing the procedure for changing the number of rings on an internal extension before it goes into voicemail. My co-worker's phone will ring at least 10-12 times before transferring to vm and we would like 4-6 rings instead.

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I have combed the manuals and they do not tell me, or at least not in such a way that I recognize it for what it is. Why do manuals have to be so non-user friendly anyway!

I will never remember to come here and check for replies, so PLEASE email me at trisha@wonderlandcamp.com

Thank you!!! I really appreciate any and all help.

ps. I did already look into the Feature 983, AA, Lines, Line no., rings, etc. option but this seems to be strictly for outside line number of rings into the main phone before activating the voice mail menu-- rather than internal extensions needing the number of rings changed. I have done it in the past and it didn't seem difficult at all. I don't know why it is so difficult this time. Oh well.

Re: Change number of rings before vm transfer

I would appreciate this info as well, in addition to the steps to change the numbers of rings on the main number before the voice menu kicks in. Post here or email is fine.

Thanks all.

Re: Change number of rings before vm transfer

Basic programming on the Norstar is fairly easy once you understand their "method". Instead of describing it in detail here, I've made up a small document from the "system coordinator's guide" that should help you out. It includes basic programming steps as well as common programming changes. **NOTE** this guide was written around the Norstar Compact ICS (CICS) release 6.1. While these basic functions are ususally the same throughout the product line, some very old software "feels" different - i.e. it may not reuqire a passcode. I cannot guarantee that it will match your system exactly. Good luck!
