Question t1 channel testing

I haven't done this ever before. I am installing a system for a customer who shipped a Magix that was already programmed. The t1 has voice channels 1 thru 17 for voice;
18-22 for spare and 23/24 for data. How do I test the 17 channels after I hang it and plug it in to the new t1?
THANKS

If it was properly configured for the T1 you're going to be connecting it to, in a perfect world you should be able to simply make a phone call to test it. If there are other (analog perhaps) trunks on the system I would allow a test phone direct access to the pool the T1 trunks are part of so you can ensure you're dialing out on the T1 lines.

Is there drop/insert equipment going between the Magix and the T1? Or is this being done with an INA board?
