Merlin Legend 511A not working

Last weekend I had 3 Merlin Legend 016 MLX Modules quit working on an off campus site PBX. I have no software (WinSPM) to get into the PBX and even if I did I would not know where to start. The phone lines on these three modules not working sound like the phone is stuck on. For example you can hook up a phone, or Test Set, to these modules and hear “white” noise or an echo if you talk and you can also hear the number tones when you dial them but that is it you cannot call with the phone or make it hang up to get dial tone. I hope that makes sense, it is just like the phone will not hang up and you are stuck on an open line. We have tried shutting the small PBX down and even reseating the cards but they stay the same and all three cards not working went out in one weekend. We had a good thunderstorm that weekend so is this a hardware problem maybe? Any suggestions will be helpful.:shame:

Re: Merlin Legend 511A not working

I have moved your question to the Merlin forum where more people might see it.

Sorry, I cannot help because I don't work on Merlins but there are several people here that do.

Re: Merlin Legend 511A not working

Since you mentioned the storms going through the area, there is a chance that programming was lost. I hope you had a memory card and set up the backup to the card to be automatic. Try restoring a backup of the system and see if the cards work.

Check the date of the back up before you push it to the system.

ACTUALLY, BEFORE YOU DO THE PUSH YOU MAY WANT TO DO A BACKUP PRIOR TO THE RESTORE IN CASE YOU NEED SOME SOFT INSURANCE.

Good Luck,
