Question about Magix 2.1...

Hi, first time poster... I'm tech support engineer for a CLEC in MA. and I have a question about a Merlin Magix 2.1 one of our customers is using. They have a PRI through us with local and LD, they are trying to dial *82 (for caller ID unblocking), but when I debug the q931 messaging all I'm receiving from them is 82 + the 11 digit number, for some reason they aren't sending the * to our switch and the call fails. This customer is his own vendor, and maintains his own switch...so this is why I came to all of you. He says that the ARS/call group (not sure) is set up the same way as on his analog POTS lines and *82 works fine on that side of the system, but like I said...when dialing over our PRI we never receive the * from the PBX. He checked out his configs and said that they aren't absorbing any digits, that this particular field is set to zero. Is anyone here familiar with this issue, or would anyone know what isn't set correctly for them to send us the * on their PRI only, is there something specific for this interface he has to set? I had him dial a whole series of numbers such as *82 + the #, *82 + the # then * again then *82 + the # then * *, and I never saw any from him...so I know it's not sending it to us at all. Any help is appreciated...

Here's a sample of what I see:

Channel ID i = 0xA18397
Preferred, Channel 23
Called Party Number i = 0xA1, '8215086157904' <--dialed #, no *

Thanks very much in advance, -Dave

No idea why it won't come across the T1, but can you take "1182" instead of "*82"?

Re: Question about Magix 2.1...

If analog are sending the * but PRI trunks are not, I would suspect the special services table, which is also capable of absorbing digits (not just the ars tables). Tell him to print out his PRI report and look it over, paying special attention as mentioned to the special services table, but also the call by call table (network selection table can do this to but unlikely to be the culprit). He is also more than welcome to post the report here and we will look it over.

Welcome to our humble group - feel free to hang out anytime :)

Hang out here and post some more, your title will change :)

It's purely based on the number of posts.
