Adding an area code in Merlin WinSPM
Hello,
I have some people in our office who need to dial the 310 area code but just get a fast busy signal. I think it's the phone system, since I can dial the area code on the handset from our FAX machine. How do I add an area code? We don't have any restrictions in our system currently, so I think this code just needs added. Thanks. |

Re: Adding an area code in Merlin WinSPM
There is a default route for 1+10digit calls, you don't have to add the area code seperatly, unless someone has done extensive routing tables. What I would try first, is to give an extension "pool dial out code" access to pool 70, your main pool, then go to that extension, dial 70 to get dial tone and bypass the system's routing, and try dialing your call. If you still reach fast busy, it is the telco. If the call goes through, the next step is to print your ARS tables and examine them to determine where to make a change.
