Question Simple question -call group

Hello,

I'm a Merlin newbie, so bear with me.

We have a Merlin Magix, and we have WinSPM connected for remote admin. I have a 1-800 number that goes to an extension(2400) that rings on five different people's phones/extensions (2820,2814, etc).

I need to add another person to that group, but I have been unable to find this list in WinSPM (version 7.0).

How do I find it and make the addition, or is it easier to use one of the console phones?

Thanks!

Depends on how this is setup - there are a number of possibilities. The 800 number could be pointed at a calling group. Or, pointed to x2400 directly and call coverage keys added to the other phones (2820, 2814 etc.). Easiest way to tell is to select print, more, ext info, 2814 and then look to see if one of the buttons is primary cov x2400. If so, then simply program this same button onto the new phone you want to add to the group.

Failing that, check in that same printout if x2814 is a member of any calling groups. If so, dial that group and see if all the phones that ring when your 800 # is called start ringing. If yes - simply add the new phone to that group.

Red face Re: Simple question -call group

I think you're on to something - the extension 2840 simply rings on their phones as a second line. Now my question is how to program one of those buttons to receive calls from 2840. It's a 4412D+ phone.

Thanks again!

centralized programming, program extension, enter the new extension number, pick a button, list features, coverage, primary - you should be good from there :)

Re: Simple question -call group

Or go to the phone in question, press

Spkr
#00
Press an unused button with lights next to it
Dial *40
Dial 2400
If your phone has the LCD with 4 buttons under it, look for the button under "enter" and press it
