Sorry if this is a stupid question.
I have always had a distaste for legend systems, and luckily I've never had to do much with them outside of sub work where I didn't have to do much with them, BUT, I have inherited a legend with a Merlin Mail release 3 (pc based) that a located 600 miles from my office, I need to be able to access this thing remotely (dial up is fine). I know about SPM software and the 35A? adapter, what I need to know is what all do I need to get both the system and voicemail set up for remote access? The voicemail does have a modem on it now, a "Mk III remote access device". Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Re: merlin legend remote access
You can set up a dedicated or shared remote access line to get into the Legend, or you can call in and ask to be transferred to the internal modem. The modem on the voice mail really won't do much for you, and doesn't allow you to program it, only get some reports. The VM programming is all through the system administrator's mailbox. If all calls are being answered by the auto attendant, you could loop a single line station to a line port, call in and transfer yourself to that CO port, which you would set up as a remote access "line".
Sorry you have a "distaste" for the system. Like everything, it's all in what you get used to! |
