Extionsion Renumbering/MOH question

I have two quick questions (Merlin Magix System):

We have a new employee coming on board who will be taking over another person's job. Our current employee would like to keep her extension number. Extensions are 120 (current employee) and 125 (empty desk). Basically, I need extension 125 to be at the desk where extension 120 is. Besides just swapping the two cables at the board, or is this my only way?

Also, is there a way to program a button on my Partner 18D (hooked to Merlin Magix) to monitor the incoming MOH?

Thank you very much.

Re: Extionsion Renumbering/MOH question

You can renumber the extension. so If you want to swap extension renumber ext. 125 to wired # like 200 then renember 120 to 125. Then renumber 200 back to 120 and your done.

Re: Extionsion Renumbering/MOH question

I would switch the cables, personally. Yes you can do the extension number swap as described except you're not done there. ALL the programming is associated with the port number not the extension number, so your name, button programming, restrictions, VMS coverage, hunt group membership, etc. etc. etc. are all going to have to be carefully reviewed and swapped in programming as well. I would do an extension print of each before you start, then again being sure to use different filenames when finished. YOu can then do a file compare in WinSPM to see if you missed anything... basically I'm saying swap the wires...

No there is no background music option on the magix, even if you're using a partner phone on an ETR port.
