meridian mail
Hi,
Running Meridian Mail Rel 12 and our AX console will not let us in, when F1 to login it asks for a password tried the default "adminpwd" and wont take it, nor will it take ours, due to perhaps a case sensitivity issue, any idea on how to use the all powerful "lost password" feature. It sure isnt through PDT let me tell you! :-) |

Re: meridian mail
Funny....
I just had the pleasure of restoring a card option MM12 system after the hard drive died on Tuesday so I was just mucking about with the install tape... (gather up two or three systems and make one working system) You will need a tape drive and the MM12 install tape. Boot to the install tape (this means shutting down your voicemail and restarting with the install tape in the drive) under "other utilities" there was something about resetting the password. ** since I was doing a system restore and knew the password I did not explore this option. **DISCLAIMER** I am NOT a mermail tech, I simply had the pleasure this week of restoring a system from a six month old backup for the very first time in my life. I am certified on CallPilot but haven't had much of anything to do with mermail other than simple service changes (until now) I'm going to assume you know that you will need to disable the AML link in ld 48 before shutting down the voicemail otherwise you will INI the switch (screw it up enough times you will also do a sysload on top of possible corruption) Last edited by westcoaster; July 17th, 2008 at 11:46 PM. |

Re: meridian mail
You are correct, it is not in PDT since PDT is for the switch only.
The tape method is the best, but if that does not work there are some utilities that will allow you to change the password of the mail, but you would be required to log into the mail to execute them. If AX does not work, provided that you have an small system, then you will not be able to access the Meridian Mail utilities and thus unable to reset the password with said utilities. |
