Station Specific Auth Codes

Hello,
I am very new to PBX programming and have a somewhat simple question. I work for a college and we need to set all the auth codes for long distance dialing to be station specific, or directory number specific. This way students will not be able to steal and use them in thier dorms to make long distance or overseas calls. We have a Meridian PBX and use OTM Navigator 2.20 to make most of our changes. But when I click on the option I found for Station Specific Auth Codes I get the following error 'Error: Insufficient access rights for attempted operation' and we only have one login for this program which is an admin account. Is there a LD command to set a Auth Code to be used at a specific directory number or is there any other way to make sure that auth codes can only be used for certain phones?

Re: Station Specific Auth Codes

Ok,
I have been able to create auth codes and delete them and the code to print existing auth codes was a big help, thanks! However when I use ld 88 to define the level of access I get an error of 'auth code already exist' when I enter 0 in for the customer number. Zero is the only cutomer number we have for all of our extensions, which might be a big problem. Is there an alternative way where I would be able to chage the phones settings not to allow use of an auth code but still be allowed to call outside of the PBX and use a prepaid calling card? I do not know much about the CLS( Trunk/Call Type Access Restrictions) but could any changes be made here to block the use of an extension being able to use a auth code.

Re: Station Specific Auth Codes

I tried cr and I get an 'incorrect response to prompt' error. I have also tried other customer numbers and extension numbers and nothing seems to work, I have even tried nothing. I figured there either is something simple I am missing or it is something about the way the settings were set up along time ago. But somehow blocking specific extensions from using authcodes or the station specific auth codes would be great if I could ind out how to set them up. There is an option under features for the DN's in the OPT 81c System Administration window but when I try to access the AUTU( Station Specific Auth Codes) feature I get the station error "Insufficient rights for attempted operation". Which is another problem because we only have one login name.
ps
The help so far has been great, thanks for the replies.

Re: Station Specific Auth Codes

It is the only account I have been told about and from the best of my knowledge it is an admin account. Is there any way to check for other accounts? I actually am looking at the Optivity Manager if there are any quick suggestions

Re: Station Specific Auth Codes

To set up auth codes, you either need to have the second level password, or a password can be set up specifically for auth codes; by default, it would be the second level password. OTM will not be able to get you out of this, you need to be able to build the auth code block as outlined in Colin's attachment.

Unless you are a multi-customer account, your customer number (CUST) will always be 0. You would need to purchase the multi-customer feature on your PBX.

Try to use CLS AUTD for the individual extension that you wanted not to accept ANY authcode.

Try to use REQ CHG. I think you are using REQ NEW for the AUB data block. That is why it is saying it is already existing.

Re: Station Specific Auth Codes

I know it has been a long time since I posted but I have been awfully busy at work rewiring phone lines and the what nots for summer while school is out. I never could get long distance codes to be station specific but I can block phones now from using long distance codes but still allow access to toll free numbers for calling cards. Thanks to everyone that helped.
