Nortel SMDR
Can anyone tell me some programming info on the Nortel SMDR5 or SMDR6 modules? Can i program SMDR output for just incoming or outgong calls or for just specific lines and stations? I have been looking for an installation and/or programming guide but haven't been able to find one anywhere. Anyone who has one that could fax or email would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Nortel SMDR
CDR data is turned on in the Customer Data Block, and there you would tell it where to send the CDR data. You can send it to a TTY port or do data buffering and do an ethernet connection to the switch.
CDR data is done by the route. You turn it off and on on the Route Data Block (LD 16) and you can turn on and off incoming and outgoing CDR. There are about 5 prompts concerning CDR there. |

Re: Nortel SMDR
I haven't used SMDR5 or SMDR6 in Meridian-1 (is that possible?).
But if your question is referring Norstar system, it is like plug and play. Supply a digital phone connection, then use RS232 cable going to your PC. Then set it up as ordinary as Hyperterminal, try to use 9600. You can explore more by connecting a digital phone to SMDR's Line Out, then do Feature command. Unluckily, I forget if it is F+90 or F+91, or something else. I will post once I found my notes. |
