Moving and exchanging tn
I am new the Meridian 61C system. I was wondering if anyone knows how exchange TN, if two are exchanging their spots in the office. I know that I can do it manually by switching the phone wires, but is there an easy way to exchange 2 TN informations?
Someone earlier told me that I need to add a TRC key on the phone to find my and the other person TN. I tried to add the trc key on my phone in LD20 (ECHANGE) but I was getting an error. Am I doing something wrong here. Please help me! |

Re: Moving and exchanging tn
As long as these are not ACD phones you can use the MOV command.
In LD 20 Print the DNB for both extensions numbers to get their existing TN's. In LD 20 print the unused voice TN's to find an available temp TN. In LD 20 move one extension to the temp TN then move the other extension to the vacated TN and then move the extension from the temp TN to the vacated TN. LD 20 req prt type dnb cust 0 dn XXXX, YYYY (where XXXX is the first DN and YYYY is the next DN you want to move) return on the next three prompte to get the print out Note the TN's for each DN. (I will use 20 0 2 2 and 20 0 2 3 for this example) LD 20 req LUDN tn (return to print all unused TN's) note an available TN. (I will use 20 0 1 1 as the available TN for this example) LD 20 req mov type 2616 (or whatever type you are working with) tn 20 0 2 2 totn 20 0 1 1 req mov type 2616 tn 20 0 2 3 totn 20 0 2 2 req mov type 2616 tn 20 0 1 1 totn 20 0 2 3 If these are ACD phones DO NOT MOVE THEM either change the wiring or delete the phones and rebuild them on the new TN's. You should never make any kind of changes to an ACD phone always delete and rebuild them. |

Re: Moving and exchanging tn
Thanks for the info and I added MCTA in CLS. Therefore now I have a trc key on the phone.
But for some reason it is not working. How can I make double sure that I have package 10 (MCT). I would appreciate if you can tell a way to change the ring tone of a HOT LINE, Internal call and an outside call. Last edited by smt; October 21st, 2005 at 03:26 PM. |

Re: Moving and exchanging tn
to get a list of the packages on your system:
LD 22 req prt type PKG I do not think is is possible to have the phone ring different for for internal or external calls. |

Re: Moving and exchanging tn
Thanks for all your help.
I was wondering if you can tell me if there is a way to set-up a 3 digit intercom group (e.g. 001). We already have a 2 digit intercom but our company expanded and we ran out of 2 digit intercom group. I do not know how the person set the 2 digit intercom group, therefore it would be great if I can see how the person before me set it up. Thanks. |

Re: Moving and exchanging tn
First, sorry about the mistake MCT is package 107 not package 10 (looked at the release number it came out in by mistake).
DIG group number can be from 0 to 2046 but member numbers are limited to 2 digits (00-99). Yoyou need to set the DGRP setting in LD 15 (data block : FTR) to the maximum number of groups you want to have up to 2046. |

I would like to ask you one more thing. Is it possible to have an extension as a group conferencing number (example 3054) that anyone can call internally and get into conferencing with who ever dialed that extension. And let say that extension has a direct line xxx-xxx-xxxx, so everyone from outside who dials that number can also get into the conference too. I would really appreciate your help on this? I know that I am asking a lot of questions but with every answer u give me, it would be one less next time ;) At least that is what I hope! |

Re: Moving and exchanging tn
When you look at the programming info for MCT in LD 11 it shows the package and release info to the right of the discription. When I looked up the info on MCT I looked at the info to the right of the discription and for some reason I thought this was the package name and number.
I think there is a card you can install in the PBX that lets you set up bridged conferences that let you give out a DN for automatic connection to a conference but I do not know the name or part number for this card. You should be able to ask your vendor and they can get the info from Nortel |

I fugured out as to y trc was not working. I had to have CLS "MCTA" & "MCT". I was missing the second part. Even though it did not get me what I was lookin for but I defintely learned something new. About the "Bridge Conferences", the card is called MICB (Meridian Integrated Conference Bridge). Too obvious if u think about it. But I bet that I could not have figured out for ages. I got help from the Nexteria Support Specialist. I only wished only our Sales Representative from Nexteria was that helpful. The guy had no clue what we were talking about and he is yet to get back to us about it. If someone want to know more about this card (MICB), they can go the site below. http://www.hawaii.edu/telecom/ConferenceBridge.html One more question, what sort of training would be best to understand all the features of our Meridian System? My boss is looking for a cheaper training for us. Something that would defitely help understand our sytem better. Is there an easier way to find a TN of a DN through the phone without loggin into the system? |
