can't reach voicemail
I am working on an Option 11 with Meridian Mail. I am unable to reach voicemail on six diferent extensions. I have deleted and rebuilt the mailboxes using the same class of services as mailboxes that work properly. I have also deleted and rebuilt extensions copying an extension that does ring through to voicemail. When dialing from another display phone within the system, the extension rings the prescribed number of times, then the display shows the voicemai ext for a second then it switches to
'0' and the call rings through to the receptionist. It does not appear to be a port problem. Exts that ring through to voicemail always do, while the exts that are not reaching voicemail always fail. The exts are on analog (500) ports. Help !l |

Re: can't reach voicemail
Mark
Not sure if I know what that means. Are there restrictions that may be on specific extensions that might prevent them from dialing other extensions, such as voicemail, even though I have copied stations in question from another that works properly ? Please reply. |

Re: can't reach voicemail
From the main menu in Meridian Mail take option 3 and then from that menu take option 4. In that menu take option 1 for VSDN table and check top see if the extensions you are having a problem with are listed there and if they are delete them (you might want to do a little research to find out why the extensions are in the VSDN before you delete them).
When a call goes to voicemail the first thing Meridian Mail does is check the VSDN table to see if the ext. is listed there and if it is the system routes the call to whatever service the ext. is pointing to. The services are things like a menu, an announcement or a time of day controler. I am not aware of any service that would redirect the call to the operator but if the ext. is listed in the VSDN table then the call will never get to the mailbox it will always go to the service defined in the VSDN table. |
