Meridian Mail
I'm using a Nortel Option 11c and have one trunk line connected, it's a loop start POTS line, the trunk is programmed as COT LOP and an ATDN. The ATDN points to an extension that has a Meridian Mail box. When a call comes in it routes to the correct ATDN, that extension rings and upon no-answer the call is put to voice-mail. The problem is that the voice mail keeps the trunk seized for about five minutes after the message recording stopped. The trunk does not know that the incomming call disconnected after leaving a message, therefore stays seized until it times out. This POTS line trunk is the only trunk I can get. No ground start is availiable. Does anyone know of a way to get the trunk to release when the calling party disconnects? I'm trying to use this unit as a answering machine at my home....Jim
