I am hoping that someone can help me. At the place where I work we have an AVAYA G3R switch and a Harris 2020. I know that these forums are mainly for NORTEL and AVAYA so forgive me if this is out of the question. I am having trouble getting the voicemail system that supports the Harris to send the message waiting indicator to a remote small harris switch with in the same building. I have installed the latest software upgrades. I have turned on the "External Call Forwarding" option and figured that this would solve the problem but it didn't. I hope to find someone with the same setup so I can find out how they have it setup. If anybody can help me or point me in the right direction the help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need help with a voicemail setup problem.
How are the PBXs trunked? QSIG? PRI? Analog lines? If the trunking protocol doesn't support MWI codes, you might have to set up the voice mail system to out pulse digits to activate the light. Although, most voicemail systems will only integrate with one type of PBX. MWI codes are a system setting for all mailboxes. If you really get desperate, set VM up to notify to a phone number, and use that to out pulse your trunk access code, MWI code and station number.
...but that wouldn't allow you to turn the light off. You could also use methods of notification other than the light.

Re: Need help with a voicemail setup problem.
Harris systems are really easy.. your voicmeail will send a code to the harris indicating to turn the light on.. *5 for example.
there will be a voicemail dial plan that you will sort remote or local. both PBX's will take the code and turn on the voicemail light. I havnt worked on a harris PBX in a couple years but i have done this before. quite easy. |
