Horror stories with non Avaya Vmail or Vendors?

We are going out to bid soon for a new Vmail system.

Anyone have suggestions on what to avoid?

Or, something I should be looking at?

At the Enterprise level, the options dwindle significantly.

Avaya will obviously be bidding but I'm curious to know if any of you have had either a good or bad experiance with a non Avaya solution.

Fore warned is fore armed.

With a non avaya soultion you will loose the direct to voice mail feature.

Not a widely used feature actually.
