Intuity Audix - -> wav file in email
We just upgraded to the Avaya Intuity LX voice mail system from a LEGACY Duvoice system. Much better but seems to be lacking a feature that we used to have.
Before..users could receive a copy of their voice mail message in their email in the form of a wav file. This was handy as users spend a lot of time out of the office and like to be notified via email on the blackberry or other device, telling them to call in and listen to their voicemail. Since the upgrade, or shall I say, new install, we are unable to do this and the vendor is telling me we can't. When I look at the config web pages there are smtp server settings and a whole boatload of other configuration options which are starting to convince me the vendor may be incorrect. SO I AM ASKING you all..... Can we have user's voice-messages sent to their email boxes by way of SMTP? Please help christopher walsh fwgeek@gmail.com |

Re: Intuity Audix - -> wav file in email
In the Intuity LX you would use "Internet Messaging" by creating a POP3 connection to MS Outlook or Lotus Notes. You would need to download the Avaya Voice Player, which is required to listen to the voice mail. You can, however, then save it as a .wav file.
Is this what you are talking about? Mike |

Not quite as fancy, but you could always use out-calling to call the user's cell phone. Or I know Cingular and Verizon have a SMS service that can be used w/ out-calling that would notify the user of new voicemails via SMS.

Re: Intuity Audix - -> wav file in email
Hi,
I wanted to do the same thing. I ended up with a solution similar to MikeD's but I think it will do a little more of what you want. Intuity allows you to pick up your voicemail messages via POP3, what I did was set up a single PC running Outlook that had every voicemail user's email account added to it. I then set it to poll every minute, and it would collect all of the pending messages from the voicemail box and put them in the in-box. On the same machine, still in Outlook, I then created a set of rules that forwarded the emails to the right person by checking the from: field for their voicemail extension/subscriber number and forwarding the email to the corresponding user's email address. Unfortunately setting it up is labourious as you have to create an email account for each subcriber and a forward rule for every recipient. But, hey, it gets the job done! Two things to look for. 1, make sure Outlook is forwarding as inline text and not as an attachment (the user doesn't have to double-click 3 times to get a message) and you might need to get one of those take command of your windows programs if you have a large number of subscribers or your email server/network can be a little unresponsive. With one of these you will have an automated way to click on OK when Outlook tells you there is a problem sending or something (can't remember the error). Another good thing is that you get a free DDI FAX system too. Intuity happilly receives FAXes and your Outlook forwarding will push them over as image files. It justs costs you the subscriber licenses if you want their FAX number to be different from their voicemail number but it's very reliable. Anyway, I was just browsing for a solution, saw a question I had experience of and thought I'd post as many other posts have helped me (and it's annoying to have a shiny new system that misses a feature you assumed it had eh?!). Can't say I'll be around often so if you need screenshots or something best to email me. Good luck! Darren |
