Outcalling to a numeric pager

Hey all,

Anyone tried to use outcalling to send digits to a numeric pager? The manual tells you to use commas to seperate groups of digits, but I found (by listening on the trunk with my butt set) that it in fact ignores commas, thus preventing you from sending the extension number (or whatever).

The solution I found for this was to change the sourced number to P + a system short code I setup expressly for the particular extension. For example, the customer in question only had 3 extensions that needed to outcall to a pager. I created 3 new system shortcodes, for example using the ficticious extension numbers 1191, 1192, 1193 and the ficticious pager number 4165551234:

Shortcode telephone number feature group
#81191 4165551234,,,,,,,,1191 Dial whatever
#81192 etc.

Then in the source numbers tab on the user form for ext 1191, I added P#81191

and so on for the others.

Thought this might help anyone who runs into the same issue.
