Direct Extension Dialling & VM Pro Conflict

We have set up VM Pro on Rls 5.0 with options to press 1 for Sales, 2 for accounts, 3 for admin, etc right up to 0 for Operator. Our extensions range from 100 onwards. We have given an option for callers who know the extension to dial it directly. On the sales option (option 1) there is another option (press 1 for IT or 2 for telecom). Now the problem we face is when a caller dials any extension directly, the calls land on the sales department extensions (option 1 on the menu). The only 2 extensions that can be dialled directly without going through operator are 102 and 103.

HELP.

Re: Direct Extension Dialling & VM Pro Conflict

You will nee to make another menu action.

In that menu action, make 2 entries. 1 with a timeout and one with ,qty 2, "??".

Set the timeout on that menu to 1 second.

Then you will need to make 2 transfer options. The first will from the timeout. Connect the timout to the destination you want the button press of 1 to go. Done with that part.

The second transfer action needs to be set to transfer to "1$KEY" Connect the "??" action in the menu to this transfer. Make sure you put in the 1 before the $KEY.

So what happens then, a caller calls in...
If they want sales, they press 1, which goes to hte menu you created, because they only pressed a 1, but nothing else, it times out from that second menu and transfer to sales.

If they pressed 110, it sends them to the second menu from the first digit pressed (which is then forgotten/deleted). Then because they pressed 10, your menu action of "??" gets used, and goes to that transfer action, adding the 1 (from the "1$KEY")to what they already pressed.

Post any questions if you need to....

Re: Direct Extension Dialling & VM Pro Conflict

Hi!

This scenario is working fine, tnks.

Further to this i need one more help:

when i am calling though the VM Pro, when i dial an ivalid extention (115- user and extention were not in system) the call is hangs up. I wants to avoid this by recording a prompt "the extention which you dialed is invalid" or disconnect the call automatically.

HELP!

Re: Direct Extension Dialling & VM Pro Conflict

On your transfer action, insert a "TEST VARIABLE" action.

On the "Specific" tab, click the drop down and select "$CP0" and make sure only extension and hunt group are checked. Then make a "transfer" action to trasnfer to "$CP0". Connect that to the Extension and hunt group entries from the test variable.

THen you can make a "Generic" action connected to "No Match" and have a recording in there saying you have entered an invalid extension number, then have the "Next" go to the AA again.

Re: Direct Extension Dialling & VM Pro Conflict

Oh, forgot the first part.
BEFORE any of the other stuff in the above post.

Get a new generic action, in it click the drop down for "Select Generic command" get set cpxx value

In the "select data variable" put a "0"

"With value", $KEY

Put that before the other info I listed....forgot the first item.
