removing "9" access????
Good Afternooon to all. We'll here is the specs. I have an IP Office 406 with version 3.1 upgraded. (working on 4.1 upgrade later)
I have a 4 line analogue trunk card on it with only two line and the other lines have been disabled. I would like to take out the "9" access out. Its a small office and internal security is not an issue. Any ideas? Thanks Jerry |

Re: removing "9" access????
First, go into Manager. Under lines you will need to make sure that there is a line number inputted. You can use 801, 802, etc....this will require the IPO to reboot.
Now go to all the users you want to assign lines to. Under the button programming tab you can assign line appearances. You will have to have at least 1 call appearance button. Then you can assign a Line appearance for the line numbers you put in.

Re: removing "9" access????
Still missing a step..? I have the line apearances on my 5410 I see "a=" for the first position and 801 and 802 for the next. How do I get an outside line without the "9"?
I did the button programming on the user and remved the "b= and c=" from the appearance and replaced it with the 801 and 802 I assigned in the lines. The buttons do not access any lines. just beep. thanks almost there... Jerry |

Re: removing "9" access????
You should be able to press the line appearance and dial out.

Re: removing "9" access????
Sorry. I read your post again. You have to change the button from a call appearance to a "Line Appearance" then it will ask which line you want.

Re: removing "9" access????
In fact when I press the 801 or 802 button the speaker light turns on but if I try and dial an ext directly it goes through. So the labeling is for a line but it is still acting like a sys access button. I can also press "9" and get an outisde line on the buttons ....?

Re: removing "9" access????
OK did some digging and found you have to start by creating a short code. I used *99* with "dial direct hotline" as the manual discribed. Then used the *99* as the prefix on the line. So that part worked I have line access from the soft keys labled 801 and 802. NOW... whats the trick to auto line selection. I want to come off hook to an outside line and not to a sys access button (in Magix, known here as call appearance or intercom in the partner).
That sems to be eluding me to this point. Thanks Jerry |
