Outbound Caller ID
We were able, with short codes, to send the extension information for one of our internal users so that his full extension shows on the recipients caller ID. Unfortunately it still shows the text for our company name. Is there a way to send the text part of the information too? Our provider says they are getting this from our IP Office system, but I disagree as the text that is displayed does not equal any entry anywhere in our configuration. Where does the caller ID (text not number) come from?

The providers I deal with have been little help. But check with them. Usually they can not change the name, but I have a few that if you tell them for certain DID numbers send abc, and others send xyz. Then you can change the number sent and have them insert the correct name.
Most providers now a days, will only send CID of numbers that you have ported to your T1. Hope this helps.
