Post Caller ID - Inbound

Hi - I am new to Avaya and IP Office so please forgive my post if not technically correct in wording.

We have an IP Office 406 with sw version 4.0 (10) - our local/ld provider is connected via PRI. We get caller ID information but only the calling number is shown - name/company information, if they are sending it is not displayed - only the number with External above it. Is there a setting to add this information?

Reason being is I have a single user with an analog phone who demands caller ID and not just the number. This prima donna is driving me crazy - everyone else is just fine with number only.

Re: Caller ID - Inbound

Are the rest of the phones receiving the CID name and number? Check the Extension under the extension tab. See that the caller display is on.

The test unit I have in the office passes name and number no problem.

Re: Caller ID - Inbound

I checked and for the analog phones the display is set to on. For internall calls the name and extension show just fine, as they do with the digital extensions. It is only on external calls we only pick up the number that is calling and the word External. Could it be that my provider is only sending the number calling?

Re: Caller ID - Inbound

That is a correct assumption.

That was it ....the provider was not sending full information. One call and it was turned on within a couple of hours. Thanks
