User rights for IP Manager 5.2

In my earlier version of IP Manager I was able to create a User ID which only could:

- view & change Hunt-group
- view Licenses
- reboot

Now with the newer version 5.2 I am unable to set the same rights for this User (even as a member of Operator Group this User is able to do a lot more then necessary).

Pls help!.

I'll term the same problem differently - is there a way to modify the .ops file? (so that I can change the user permissions defined within the file).

I believe as of 3.2 there is new security settings in manager. Go to File - Advanced - Security. It will search for the IPO, and you will have to log in. Search the help file of manager for "security". it will tell you the username and password. You can modify the settings there.

Yes, I have tried that. Whoever designed the 3.2's Security seems to be a beginner on the subject!.

3.2's Security forces me to add a user within a Rights Group. Within a Rights Group it does not allow me to choose access permission per folder. Instead it gives global access - like "Read All Configuration, Write All Configuration". What the &@% is this!

I modify the "manager" logon to suit my needs.

Re: User rights for IP Manager 5.2

To set the record straight:

IP Manager 5.2 is what comes with IPO 3.2 Admin CD.
IP Manager 6.0 comes with IPO 4.0 Admin CD.

I have found out that I can use IP Manager 6.0 (with my IPO 3.2 as it is downward compatible) as this version allows for much greater flexibility in user access permission than the 5.2.
