I have a system I am programming. The 403 shows it has a valid license for Voicemail Pro. When I start the voicemail server it still comes up as Voicemail Lite. Has anyone had this problem or know the fix?

Be sure that you've loaded the correct software. Voicemail Lite comes with the system and will be found on the 3-CD set. Voicemail Pro is a completely seperate CD. If you cannot locate the Voicemail Pro CD you can download it from http://support.avaya.com ... click on Software and Firmware Downloads, then under Enterprise Class IP Solutions (ECLIPS) click on IP Office, then All Documents, and finally click on "IP Office Software Level 1.4" At the bottom of the page you'll find VMPro 1.4.
Finally, be sure to COMPLETELY UNINSTALL Voicemail Lite prior to installing Voicemail Pro.

I'd call your distributor for assistance at this point. I know that Catalyst Telecom has a support group for just this sort of issue.

How did you install VMP? On top of VM Lite? If you have, then uninstall both, reboot, and install VMP again, and reboot afterwards.
I normally choose custom install. In v1.3 you have to install as application rather than as service, if you want voicemail email to function. I do not know if AVAYA have fix this on v1.4. Give it a go. Can you ping the IPO from the voicemail server? If your IP 403 is seeing a valid license, then it's seeing the Key Server. Have you looking under system to see what IP address that it expect the VM server to have? The default is broadcast, could try the IP address of the VM server it self. Other readers, have i left anything out? |

Slightly OT. VM email DOES work when configured as a service
To get it to work correctly go to service properties & set a valid username & pasword in the log-on tab. the account used must have a valid e-mail config |
