Post IP Office Failures

This week we have had 2 out of box failures. Both were IP 403's. Has anyone else had this problem.

At least they were out of the box problems and not in service then die.

We have installed aprox 20 of these and not had any major problem.

These are the first we have had problems with. We test and burn in the switches before we install. It stops the issue of going to the customer with a bad product.

We get the system and program per customer needs. While we have it here we will test to make sure the system is programmed correctly. Once we take the system to the customer site, most bugs have been resolved.

Tech support believes it may be a bad module in the system. I took the Remote Maintence Modem out and have not had the same problem.

What were the symptoms of the failure, I have just had an IP401 arive out of the box with no firmware installed.
(system showing red light)

it wa a simple mater of correctly seting my IP address & manualy configuring a bootp entry in the manager
(use view/tftplog to identify the units mac address)

one this is in place the system will download its firmware & restart

Sometimes it may be nec to use the DTE port to also rease the database

The system would be up and running. We programmed the stations and tested. System would be fine. When we returned the next day, the system would be dead.
