programming physical speed-dial buttons

I just had an IP Office installed and I'm besides myself with one thing. the users all have 5420 digital phones with the eu24's. on the definity there was the button 'abr-prog' that allows the user to program there own speed dial buttons. I am being told there is no such way on the IP Office... can that be true??? that's really unbelieveable. I know they have the speed-dial page from the softkey but you mean to tell me there's no way for the user to manually do their own physical buttons??

Re: programming physical speed-dial buttons

There is the same thing, you program abbreviated program and abbreviated dial buttons the same way basically. It is under Emulation in button programming.

Re: programming physical speed-dial buttons

yeah but is the user able to do this from the phone itself or it has to be done from the backend?

You as the administrator assign the button (Personally I always use Self-Administer) that allows them to program the buttons; then they as the user can program the buttons you've allowed them to.

If you use Self-Administer and put a 1 in the number field, they can program Dial, Group, Park, User and Hook Flash buttons. If you leave the number field blank they can program anything the docs indicate is User Program: Yes.

If you JUST want them to be able to program speed dial buttons, you assign an "Abbreviated Dial Program" button to their phone.

Re: programming physical speed-dial buttons

I'm actually embarrassed I have to ask this.. I've been so used to 'autodial' and the 'abr-prog' button that I have totally forgot the procedure for abbreviated dialing and the self administer. SOS :)
