How to remote to a IP office.
does anybody tell me which tool will be used to remote to a IP office. should it creat a new dial-up connection or use the Avaya Site Administration?
if it use dial-up connection, was its remote method same as that in Avaya S8300? I mean the use ID & PW input method.

Re: How to remote to a IP office.
I've never used any "Avaya" tools or dialup. I have been successful with some IP based tools like Microsoft Remote Desktop and TightVNC for software based remote, and for my own systems I have Raritan IP KVM switches if that helps you any.

Re: How to remote to a IP office.
You have to use either an internal modem module, a 4 port CO line card (the first port can be used for remote access) or do a PC Anywhere type conenction to their Manager PC. In the first 2 examples, you create a dial up connection on Windows and use the remote manager dial in user for login and password.

Of just use a ISDN TA and dialin to all of your sites - only of course if you have a spare ISDN line.
I VPN into work, remote desktop to the dialin PC, and then dialin on that to all our sites when I am at home - works brilliantly and takes seconds to connect. |

Re: How to remote to a IP office.
Regarding dialing into an IP Office -be aware that IP Office is a COMPLETELY different platform than the S8xxx servers. You'll access the IP Office a couple different ways depending upon what type of equipment you have available. If the IP Office has an internal modem connection (either a modem II card or the software selected modem on line port 1 ) then you need to download the IP Office interface application called "Manager" from the support.avaya.com web site. If there is no modem II card then you need to dial in to the Manager/Voicemail Pro server and launch RDP to gain access to the server and thus the IP Office.

Re: How to remote to a IP office.
if your just trying to remote in to do programming we use a site called logmein.com. It's free, dosn't allow file transfer but you can program manager and voice mail pro easy enough.
