Outbound Caller ID display

I have an IP Office system that when you make a call from any phone in the office it will display the Phone number and Name of a single user in my office on the receiving phone. I was not aware that IP office could send the user name with the caller ID and my phone company (MCI) does not know of the user name. How could that be happening? Any ideas?

Do you mean that this 'name' data is being sent over a trunk? What trunk type are you using? Are you sure that the called party is not doing any kind of directory lookup on the CLI?

I've heard muted whispers of this phenomenan muttered in dark places, but have yet to hear of a solution. Did you ever figure this out Jeff?
