Need help with IP Agent ver 3.0

I could really use some help. I don't know a lot about PBX stuff but I do know computers. We use IP Agent at work so that we can take calls remotely. For some reason, I can do the Definity Login, but when I try to do the Agent Login I get a long pause then the error - "Your call could not be completed, please try again." I've tried installing on two different systems with the same results. Many of my co-workers use the program with no problems. My computers are probably more up to date that theirs, could this be a compatibility issue with XP updates? I've compared all of my settings to a co-workers whose system works. They are all the same. If I call my extension at work, the "phone" rings on my computer, so it would appear that I am logged in. I called Avaya and spent an hour on the phone. I asked about a manual uninstall proceedure and he started talking about regedit, but he didn't know what it was! The guy had no clue, finally ended the conversation with, 3.0 is no longer supported. Upgrading to a newer version is currently not an option. I have installed the lasted update to 3.0. I'm wondering if my extension is setup properly on the switch. I have run out of ideas short of reinstalling the OS, I would live with IP Agent first. HELP! (Sorry for the long post.)
