IP Office 406 - Paging Setup
Hello all,
I am having trouble connecting my IP Office system to our external paging system. I have given the instructions to the people seeting up our audio system and they have had no success. The POT port has been configured to Paging Speaker and voicemail has been disabled. When the extension is dialed, I get a busy signal. The audio installer has wired T/R to pins 4 and 5 leaving the POT port and has them connected to the audio system with a pheonix connecter. Thanks! Garry |

Re: IP Office 406 - Paging Setup
try dial pageing the "extension" and see how you go. There is a feature called Dialpageing, I am sure you could set this up appropriately and probably find it works quite nicely

Re: IP Office 406 - Paging Setup
Once you configure the analog port as a 'Paging Port', you must re-boot the IP Office.
Also, we had had to use a Tel input adaptor with some amplifiers. Some amplifiers don't seem to see the IP Office as a 600 ohm input. You should be able to monitor the page port with an off-hook analog set as a test. Also, create a short code ( eg. #96 ) to 'dial page' the page port extension. Cool feature, you can add the external page port as an extension in a Hunt Group with other extensions, and then 'dialpage' the whole group! cpF |

I have also found that you will get a busy signal after setting up the POT port. Do a hard reboot of the main module (i.e. pull the power plug and then replug) Paging usually works after this.

Re: IP Office 406 - Paging Setup
Still Busy!I have tried rebooting (soft & hard) and creating a short code to dial page the extension and its still busy. I was able to get paging working by connecting a UPAM to an analog trunk port, but I would prefer to use one of the POT ports. I want to be able to page the PA and all the phones at the same time. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Re: IP Office 406 - Paging Setup
No matter what the help files say, this will not work. I have tried this numerous times. I have talked with a business partner who currently has it working at one customer location but he can't duplicate at any of his other customer sites. The best thing to do is use an analog port with an external telephone interface device.

Re: IP Office 406 - Paging Setup
That is what I have resulted to. I am using a bogan UPAM connected to an IP office analog port. Paging works fine.
Is there any way to use this setup and page both the analog port and all the speakerphones at the same time? Thanks, Garry |
