Auto dial for Wall phone

We installed a wall phone for a customer on a IP 406 today. It is connected to an analog extension (231). We need the phone to dial an extension as soon as the button is pressed ( when the ext draws dial tone) I was looking for a "hotline" feature like a Definity G3 but couldn't find anything. All my doc's indicated that by building a short code in the user of 231 of "?D....Number is 500 the line group ID is 0 and the feature is "DialExt" should work. This doesn't work! Although the phone does dial the extension and the called party can answer the call; there is not a talk path established. We can't communicate to eachother. Any ideas????

Re: Auto dial for Wall phone

Put a shortcode in the users settings like this:

SC = ?D
TN = desired extension
Action = DialExtension
Line ID = 0

As soon as the line is taken ( handset lifted ) the IPO dials a number.

Re: Auto dial for Wall phone

As Indicated in my original post, I tried that. Althought he extension dials the desired destination, we can't talk across the connection. Any idea why?

Re: Auto dial for Wall phone

sounds linke a fault with the handset, or possibly the port on th IPO.
if you manualy make a call do you have the same problems (disable the user shortcode to test)?
