Configuring IP office as a remote cabinet
Can we configure IP office as remote cabinte to share Intuity Audix at the main location. Also can we use G350 in stand alone or is it needs to be connected back to S8700. We have few small offices (10-15 users) and the cost to set up an avaya solution is quite high......
Any recommendations............. |

Hi Stanley,
Yes you can purchase a license from the ipoffice to connect to intuity audix and use that messaging system instead of the ipoffice one. Sadly the G350 will not work without a media server to control it. Hope this helps! |

Re: Configuring IP office as a remote cabinet
Recommendations? install the 350 as a remote gateway from your newly installed 8700. (hope you got that d-channel up!). the ip office can't compare to the seamless solution you'll get from an all-definity class deployment. sure, it may be more expensive at first, but your upkeep is going to be less time-consuming, and a lot less frustrating!

Re: Configuring IP office as a remote cabinet
Thanks guy's for your input......I was also wondering if you have any matrix put together as far as the cost justification goes on setting up IP office verses G350 gateways ....
Please allow me to share our enviorenment and the challenges with it...We have 14 sites...At main location we have installed S8700 and we still need to put together a strategy for the remaining 13 sites. These 13 sites have approached end of life and we really need to do some thing about it... I have spoke with our Avaya account exec and it seems like they are pushing for S8300 with LSP...its a great solution but very expensive and on other hand if we install IP offices it will cost us almost 40% less than S8300 with LSP We have thought about using the G350 gateways but how we are going to justify the cost of the dedicated links from remote site to main location....Also we are cisco shop on the data side of the house and I am not sure how much bandwidth we would need to support a site of 15-25 people if we use G350 gateways at the remote locations.... Thanks in advance for your help |

Re: Configuring IP office as a remote cabinet
You can use the IP-Office for the remote side,s works great.
We have side,s from 3 to 38 remote side,s to S8700. The problem for you is that you must program every IP-Office and need to learn this the right way. The Ip-office is very sensitife if you don,t program it right it will do strange things. Just start with the smallest remote side and make it a test pilot with your company thats sells the IP-Office and look if thats what you want. We do many time,s a testpilot with a company thats not sure what he want,s with the remote side,s. Greets Peter |
