Should we buy IP Office and VM Pro

We are looking for a PABX for a new building and IP Office seems to be the fronrunner in our selection, but looking at the number of issues reported here I'm becoming a bit nervous about selecting the product, specially that we will need to have VM Pro with it. Our configuration will be IP 412 Office with the 12 modules attached to it. We will probably have about 300 extensions running upfront, without that much extra growth expected. Our needs are quite basic (a head office for a company, without a call center). Should we proceed with putting a recommendation to purchase? What other licenses should we be looking at purchasing with the system?
Thanks

Partner, you need to take a look at a ProLogix or an S8500/G650 with an Intuity LX voicemail system. A 412 with 12 modules ... what are you going to do a year or so from now when you discover that you actually do have a need for growth? Not only will you have no room for growth with a 412 but you'll be pushing the upper limits of processing power. Make no mistake about it, the IP Office is a great platform but I would never recommend that ANYONE paint themselves into a corner as you're suggesting.

What you're looking at will work ... but I'm going to recommend against it.

Re: Should we buy IP Office and VM Pro

The IP is a stable & robust system, there are lots of reported issues, this is because there are lots of users. the current issues withthe system are of a relativbly minor nature & most have simple & efective work arounds.

The IP412 & VM pro would probably fullfil your needs without any problems but I have to agree that starting with a fully loaded system is a shortsighted decision & it would be better to start with a system that is only 50% or posibly 75% loaded to give scope for future expansion.

Though I love IP Office I have to agree with the guys, if your starting point is a fully loaded system, then your elbow room is immediately limited. (the only person happy with replacing your system again within a few years would be Avaya - not your boss or your accountants.

However do ignore the issues you see raised here. The forums will always show those who have a problem, didn't read the manuals or programmed things wrong - it won't show those who are happy and have no issues.

Have you considered building SCN if applicable? In that way, you should have some room to grow. And one unit is down, at least you have the other part. Of course, it is up to $$$.

Re: Should we buy IP Office and VM Pro

Any sales person that wants to sell me an ip-office with 300 station as a startpoint for my company is only looking for mony.
He must look at your needs and give you the best platform and that is the avaya S8300/S8700,
the problem is the company,s that are selling IP-Office not all can handle this platform.

IP-Guru and sizbut and ahays nowing a lot of the IP-Office and also now when to change from platform.
So not only choose a diffrent platform also an other consultant.
