umm Questions:
What version are you running?. Answer - you cannot have two phones with the same extension!. Perhaps try either putting them both in a huntgroup and mess around with exntesion numbers or try covering to the added handset

Depending on what your trying to achive, the call coverage options may also be a possibility - essential calls to one extension will also alert at other extensions. Look in the Manager help file. Only problem is that call coverage operation changed a lot between 2.x and 3.0.

yeah, one of these is the inability to cover to analog handsets with the introduction of version 3.0 yay!. Thanks for nothing avaya.. it worked fine before
