VoIP

I have an IPO 3.0 on a LAN with ISDN dial-up internet through local proxy. Through IPO, I want to make VoIP calls to US. If I get an account setup with one of the service-providers in US, how do I setup the IPO so that I can make such calls direct from my extension?

Re: VoIP

I guess that you mean like having a private line to your extension, I assume you have other lines that enable you to make local calls so what you have to do is to create a different incoming group id for these lines and also a different outgoing group id, then you have to create two different shortcodes, one for taking the local lines and the other to take the other ones. For example when you press '9' you'll get local tone, and when you press '0' you'll get the other tone. Also you can create an incoming call route directed to your extension when something comes from that lines. If you don't want the other users on the system to use the other lines then create the shortcode only in your user profile.

Re: VoIP

Thanks for your reply.

Your configuration has more to do with IPO-only setup but I wanted to know about the setup between Service-Provider & IPO.

Lets say I get VoIP service from a Vonage-type provider. Then instead of using their adapter, I should configure my IPO for their gateway address, username & password. Once this is done & tested I would then configure the IPO along your recommendation.

I realize that there is a high probability that the IPO is not yet designed able to do the above!
