Hi,
We have a IPO 406 and a 403 connected via VOIP using SCN (2.1 (27)). We are using 2030 handsets at both sites. My issue is that many of our users (bless ‘em) are keen on switching their phones out of group as they think they are far to important for menial tasks such as answering the telephone . To get around this we run soft console at both sites and use its facilities to see which phones are in group and also force phones in group remotely. The questions I have are 1) Is it possible to find out the group status of an extension without using soft console (I would like the managers to be able to see the group status of phones in there department) 2) The soft console solution does not work across the sites, is there a work around for this. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have. |

Re: Query extension group status
Hey,
There is one expensive workaround that immediately springs to mind and that is to install CCC and using CCV a supervisor can force their agents in and out of the given phone status as they see fit however this will not work for remote sites. As for flicking phone status remotely, there is no software that I am aware of that will do this (not even CCC) what about a shortcode?. Have you looked into this?

Re: Query extension group status
A little "Cheat" i used on a site for phones that had to stay in group 100% was as follows
1) Create a dummy user for each extn & set it to forward unconditional/forward hunt group calls to the real extn. 2) Use the dumme ext in the group instead of the real extn. 3) if you want to be realy harsh add "N" into the DND exeptions table of the user to prevent them going on no calls. The above "Cheat" will only work for hunt (linear) & rotory (Cyclic) group types.
