Unhappy IMS Not showing up in Outlook

Ip office 3.0
Outlook 2003
VM and IMS upgrade to latest version.

Few of my computers on the LAN are having the same issue. Ims seems to install fine but does NOT show up in outlook under TOOLS MENU. You can listen to your messages on your computer but it does not get rid of the red light on your phone.

I tried importing the firewall with the IP Office software exceptions and even turing off the firewall. I don't know what else to try.

Re: IMS Not showing up in Outlook

I had this same issue back in 2.0. I would have thought it had been resolved by now. I had a different problem on a per PC basis. Avaya would blame the PC and the problem never was resolved. They also said it would only work on 10 XP users at once. We finally offered the customer their money back. Not too helpful but interesting!

Did you verify the DCOM settings?

Re: IMS Not showing up in Outlook

Yes I verified them. I had my computer sitting right next to the one that doesn't work and compared and made everything the same. And Still NOTHING. :(

Re: IMS Not showing up in Outlook

What IMS Server OS are you running?- the 10 connection limit is typical of the limit on XP pro and WIN2000 Pro, to go beyond 10 you need the server edition OS.

Re: IMS Not showing up in Outlook

Yes, but you will need to licence the server appropriately - standard server comes with 5 connection licence, but unlike 2000/XP pro, can be increased beyond 10 to whatever number you need.

Re: IMS Not showing up in Outlook

It was a problem with Outlook 2003. It was disabled in Outlook. I had to go to Help...About Microsoft Outlook.....Disabled items.... IMS was in there so I enable it. Working Great. so far....

Re: IMS Not showing up in Outlook

Has anybody been able to get IMS to work with Outlook2003 under R3 firmware? I have a client where it was working fine under 2.1.31, but there is a forehead sized dent in my desk from my efforts to make it fly under R3.0.44

Peter

In outlook Click on help, about Microsoft Outlook, Click on Disabled Items. IMS or UMSform might be in there. CLick to enable it. Hope this works for you!
