Daylight Savings w/ IP Office

How can I make the daylight savings change for the phone system with our IP Office pbx?

There is a time server setup but im not sure why it did not update.. does the system require a reboot??

Thanks

Re: Daylight Savings w/ IP Office

Normaly the IP Office will synchronise its clock with ther VM PC (it checks this on initial boot then once per hour)
Provided daylight savings is enabled correctly on the VM PC no further action is required

If you are using a sepeate Time Server (on a unix/linux server?) the IPO can try to use this in preference to the VM PC & often they output time in GMT format.

there is a time offest option in the IPO system settings to compensate for this, but you would need to change it manualy.

Re: Daylight Savings w/ IP Office

When the tech set it up initially he had setup a time server, but im guessing it failed to reach that time server as it did not update for daylight savings time.

What we did is exactly as you suggested and changed the timeserver to the ip of the VM Pro box, this solved all our issues.

My question is,

is the time being updated on the phones from the box itself or is it getting updated from whatever that box has configured as a time server. For instance, it has time.windows.com as its time server.. is that where it will be updating from?

Or if we need to update the time manually can we just change the time on the box and it will sync every hour?

Thanks for your quick response :)

Re: Daylight Savings w/ IP Office

The time on the phones is taken from the RTC (Real Time Clock) in the IP Office.
The IP Office updates its RTC from the specified time server on a reboot & every hour if available (otherwise it will continue with the current time)
If the time on the time server is changed, this will change the RTC in the IP Office at the next resynch (& so update the phones)
