Hi.
can we programme 1 Analaog trunk port as MODEM enabled & Dial to IPO remotely to do the programming.

I programmed in the small office edition when dial i get a modem tone but how to login with Manager once modem handshaeks .

Pls can any body advice me how to go about it.


i have some remote sites , for small programming i need travel around 80 KMs.

well . you could use the first analog line on iPO small edtion. you should enabled modem operatoin on that trunk which is V.24 modem. the second step you should Create RAS service . and also Creat the user with the same name of the service and on tick the dail on tab on the user form.

lets assume you have created ras service name"test" . and also created a user with the same name "test" .
now the user name and password who will authenticate the remote cleint. go now to the incoming call route set destination on that analog trunk to the ras service name"test". and type set to any

After setting up , RAS services & extn , once i dial in how to get connected to Manager application for programming.

Pls explainme detailed one once u explined about RAS servicess.

My doubt is how to connect the manager application once i dila in to Avaya small OE.

You just need to open Manager on your PC, change the preferences to the address of the IPO you have just dialled into (File/preferences/edit) and operate as normal.

After i creating the RAS service & user name , password.once i dial in to SOE i get modem handshake, after i get a window username & password verification .

Then i will get error "721" remote computer does not answer .

where i am doing the mistake ,,

pls help me solve this problm,, i am not able to do the remote programming for SOE , i need to travle long distance to do some small changes.

What firmware are you running? The modem on the SOE didn't work correctly until 2.1.31

Hi Cephas.

I am current running version is 2.1(27)

My Login PC having WIN XP Sp1. in the PC i have internal modem card -Conexant 56K ACLink Modem

I belive thi information is sufficient to Guide me to solve this problem

If Cephas is correct that the modem did not work correctly untill V2.1(31) (& I would not doubt him for a moment) then the solution is to upgrade to V2.1(31)
